The selection process for RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 is multi-staged and rigorous, designed to identify the most suitable candidates. It comprises five successive stages:
Negative Marking: A penalty of 1/3rd mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in both CBT-1 and CBT-2. There is no negative marking in CBAT.
This is a preliminary screening exam, and its marks are not counted in the final merit list.
This stage is critical as Part-A marks contribute to the final merit list.
Candidates shortlisted 8 times the ALP vacancies per community/category per RRB (based on Part-A marks of CBT-2) will proceed to CBAT.
The final merit list is prepared RRB-wise, giving 50% weightage to Part-A of CBT-2 marks and 50% weightage to CBAT scores. Candidates equal to the number of vacancies are then shortlisted for Document Verification and Medical Examination.
Applications must be submitted online only through the official websites of the participating RRBs. The online portal will be active from May 15, 2026, to June 14, 2026.
